Washington County and the VADOC Western Region

Those facilities include Augusta Correctional Center, Bland Correctional Center, Cold Springs Work Center, Green Rock Correctional Center, Keen Mountain Correctional Center, Marion Correctional Treatment Center, Red Onion State Prison, River North Correctional Center, and Wallens Ridge State Prison. Green Rock Correctional Center in Henry County and Marion Correctional Treatment Center in Smyth County are both within a reasonable drive from Washington County.

Red Onion State Prison (276-796-7510) and Wallens Ridge State Prison (276-796-0300), both located in Wise County, are about two hours from Abingdon and frequently hold maximum-security inmates from this region.
